I believe that to get to know the nature of a man, you must judge him by his goals. Judge the direction of a man's goals and you can get an accurate assessment of his character. A man without goals is a man without character. He is a man that can easily be convinced by those of dark character into engaging or joining the prevailing evil of the day.
With that in mind, here is my list of goals as I will do my best to meet them:
• To provide as best I can for my family. To always love, honor and respect my wife and child.
• To raise my child so that she will be a good, productive and honorable citizen of our United States of America.
• To better myself and thus better my family and community.
• To serve as a positive example for others. To help as many others as I can, in whatever way I can, to live their lives to their fullest potential in our great American society.
• To do whatever I can, in whatever amount I can, to help alleviate pain, misery, suffering, strife, corruption and hate. To help my fellow citizens achieve self-sufficiency and self-respect as best as they can.
• To protect our nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
• To continue my service in defense of our nation, until it is time for me to retire and turn that responsibliity over to another, younger generation.
The goals listed above will not change. I may add, but I'll not subtract from this list.
As with anyone, there are some goals that rise while others fade as a person's live forces occur. Here are my transient goals:
• To win election and to serve our community in an elected office, running my term free of the encumbrances of PAC or special interest influences and cash.
• To finish the two novels I've started, Spring Forward, Fall Back and The Inheritance.
• To plan on producing the script for the short story I've written, The Journey, into a video story.
